yesterday i went to oxford street with ian and aidan. in the topshop a modeling scout talked to ian and gave him a business card or something for auditions. i think the whole incident has gone to his head so aidan and i took a continuous piss at him the whole train ride home, that is on top of the crap he gets for constantly fixing his hair. but its all fun and games until i get hammered late one night... i guess that brings me to my next topic. people seem to be really scared walking the streets at night now a days. last night i noticed that when i was walking towards people walking in the opposite direction that they would go out of their way to cross the street just so they won't have to walk past me, i mean its not just me, it happens to other people too. talk about paranoid. 'why on earth are we here? surely not to live in pain or fear.' we can live in fear. terrorist and guys with hammers shouldn't alter our lifestyles unless you can actually see them and they are a direct danger to you or others. i'm sure there are certain exceptions to that rule, but you get what i mean yeah?
uni started back up this week and my classes fall on two days, one class on tuesday and three classes on thursday. its a pretty relaxed class schedule except that i have two third level classes (which is the highest level) and all of my modules seem like they are more demanding this semester. its still only the first week so we'll see about that.

stop looking at me zwan... come on, it had to be said at some point, i'm just sorry that i had to say it first. zwan: mary star of the sea is pretty good i think. the first few tracks get a little repetative but the rest of it is pretty good but mellow. i also recently got weezer: maladroit which is also pretty good. of course its not as good as the blue and green albums but its pretty good. a few tracks i could do without though like slob, but i think the songs dope nose, keep fishing, and slave make up for the not so good songs on this album. i also got a supergrass album and it has been a complete disappointment, i guess i should listen to the whole album but the tracks that i listened to weren't all that impressive. it sounds like a band that has gotten stuck in the early eighties. the dcfc: you can play these songs with chords album is growing on me.
not much else is new. my english friend ian seems to have gotten into some trouble with the ladies. he is cool guy with morals and values and such with respect towards the birds, last night he said "i've never had girls just throw themselves at me before, i don't know what to do..." its sort of funny in a way. it looks like he is gonna stay low for a little bit and keep away from the ladies, which i think is a good idea.

its been a while since i've written in here, sorry. i've been trying to meet and hang out with the new group of yanks that arrived on tuesday. they seem alright, but i can definetly see the one group emerging into two groups: 'the average u.s. college students'; and 'the quiet unheard group' (because they are really quiet and don't speak much). there is a third possible group which would be 'the keep to themselves group', meaning that they don't hang out with anyone and aren't really seen (a.k.a. the unknown). this really sucks for me because i really don't directly fit into anyone of these groups at all. i really fit into the 'go with the flow group, but is not loud and draws attention' group, which i feel there was last semester. but screw groups, whatever happens happens eh?
sorry i haven't really kept you all up to date with the whole mundane continental thingy. although i recorded most of my music onto my computer in the states i guess i didn't record them in the right wav format so i couldn't transfer them into mp3 format so i could burn them onto a cd. i hope to get working on that once i return to the states, however that date right now is really unknown. i suspect that it will be early to mid summer instead of really late summer because i need to sort out the paper work to return to saint mary's next fall.
so before the new group of yanks arrived i ran into this spanish girl that is studing here for the year and i asked her to come out with mike and i to wagamama (a noodles place in kingston), she said no. i realise shortly after that event that i have actually asked her to hang out with me a few time and have been turned down every time. i just want to hang out with her though, nothing else. but i guess this means that i've been turned down by irish birds and spanish birds in the past six months. i was thinking that i should try american girls but now i'm thinking not so much because the whole topic on my part has been built up too much and in turn would make it uncomfortable for me to do so. i guess this means that i also can't ask out english birds either (but i wouldn't be entirely opposed to that). but i guess i should give it a rest for a while.
today is the release day of zwan here in england. thats sort of funny since its been out in the states for a little bit now, bloody bastards... anyway i ordered it off of amazon.co.uk because its cheapier than buying it at hmv (which is probably the equivalent to sam goody in prices and what not). i also ordered the strokes, super grass, and weezer cds, some new, some used. now i'm just waiting for them to arrive. also i music news i've noticed that there are some decent concerts coming up soon in london, them being blacklicious, the haunted, apoctalyptica (or however you spell that), cheap trick (john's favourite... not mine), zwan, dropkick murphys, coldplay, and nickel creek, those are the ones i noticed anyway. i would definetly see zwan if i could but i can't because its sold out along with the coldplay concert. tenacious d is also playing up in manchester but that is also sold out. i probably won't see apoctalyptica because its a little pricey. the only one i'm really concidering to see right now is the haunted but thats this wednesday and i might have plans so we'll see about that one.
so far life back in london has been okay. the flight was the usual boring seven hour flight (from chicago) but thanks to a good tail wind we arrive half an hour early. so far i've run into bill, jackie, ann, fiona, billa, mike, ian, and aidan (respectively). it was a little slow the first couple of days but now its starting to pick up a little bit. the new group of yanks arrive tomorrow and i'll probably get a chance to meet them that night in the tartan bar with the deli meat free for all thingy... did i meantion it was free food? yeah, the food here still sucks. i've had a chicken kabob, mcdonalds, wagamama, and a lot of cerial, toast, and fruits.
on the second day after i got back (friday) i went down to the victoria and albert museum and just sort of bummed around the south bank of the thames in central london to kill time. the next day i went to richmond and picked up some headphones. i kept thinking on the bus ride over there "if its between richmond and death, i choose death..." i think anna put that one in my head. i think that if virginia had lived in richmond today she wouldn't think it was so bad...
i just got the new death cab for cutie album you can play these songs with tabs. i must say that the new recordings of the old songs are the best songs on there (which is about half the cd), i wasn't very impressed with the new stuff.
on thursday i play basketball with tim, kc, and jeremy at the jefferson activity center. when kc and jeremy arrived we played four on four with some other people and got whomped. in a different game of four on four jeremy busted my upper lip which is still a little sore. in the last game we played (kc and i versus tim and jeremy) i was saving a ball from going out of bounce so i grabbed the ball with my right hand as i was jumping out of bounce and as i was turning around i saw tim standing in front of kc so i didn't know what to do so i just chucked the ball at tim. the ball ended up going through tim's hands just over his head and smacking kc in the nose because he was standing directly behind tim. the ball then went out of bounce. it was sort of funny at the time because everybody was like 'how did that happen?' i was pretty amazed myself, one because the ball got past tim, two because i didn't know that i could throw a basketball that hard while going out of bounce, three because it hit kc in the face, and four because the ball actually went out of bounce after that. i made impossible possible.
