How do I place an order?
All items listed on the HIGBYTOYS™ Web site are
marked either "(SI)" or unmarked for Stock Item, "(SL)"
for Stock Item--Limited Quantity, or "(RI)" for Rare
Item--Extremely Limited Quantity or One-of-a-Kind. Stock Items
"(SI)" and Stock Items of Limited Quantity "(SL)" are
usually available, so you may pay now with Visa or MasterCard through PayPal
(see Do You Take Credit Cards? below) or
send a check or money order (Pennsylvania residents must add 6%
sales tax) along with the item number and description (e.g. #PRR1931P - 1931

Rare Items "(RI)" by definition are either One-of-a-Kind or are
only available in Extremely Limited Quantities. The first thing you should
do is contact us by e-mail at HIGBYTOYS@yahoo.com, or telephone and
indicate the "(RI)" item description and item number in which you are
interested. We'll be able to tell you if a Rare Item "(RI)" is still
available, and at your request we will put the item on hold for three (3) business days,
to allow time for your order confirmation and money order or check to arrive. Items are
put on hold on a "first come-first served" basis--e-mail is given priority over phone orders. Postal
Money Orders ship immediately upon receipt. If you include your Train Collectors Association
(TCA) number on your personal check, the ordered item(s) will also ship immediately.
Allow 8-10 business days shipping for personal checks with no TCA number. USPS
Standard Insured Delivery within the continental United States is included in the
listed prices which are quoted in US Dollars; see the Alternative Shipping Options table below for an

What exactly is HIGBYTOYS™ ?
HIGBYTOYS™ was created in January 1998 as a sole
proprietorship by John L. Tancredi. We are dedicated to Customer Service Excellence.
Originally it was planned that HIGBYTOYS™ would
concentrate on items of interest to the toy train collector, but the primary focus has
shifted to original Pennsylvania Railroad calendars, calendar posters & prints, and
rare & unusual books. However, toys (e.g. selected Hess Toy Trucks, Hallmark--Lionel
Keepsake Diecast Ornaments, Diecast Toy Vehicles) and specialty toy train items (e.g.
selected Lionel, Marx, MTH toy trains & accessories) will
continue to be made available at competitive prices as in the past.
As a marketplace for original PRR calendars, calendar posters & prints and rare & unusual books, HIGBYTOYS™ is unique as it is updated frequently, and more people visit this site than would receive a conventional mailing list. It is expected to be a pleasant alternative to buying from strangers for very high prices at online auctions. All item prices, which are subject to change without notice, are specified in United States Dollars (including insured s&h within the continental United States) and all items are guaranteed to be accurately represented for condition by TCA Standards. Pricing errors, although very rare, will be resolved at the discretion of the HIGBYTOYS™ proprietor. Also very rare on our web pages are pricing conflicts (where prices for the same item displayed on multiple HIGBYTOYS™ web pages are different due to an error by our webmaster); the buyer should assume that the higher price will prevail wherever a pricing conflict exists. What exactly is Eileen
Swanson Photography™ ?
Eileen Swanson Photography™ recently (July, 2003) partnered
with HIGBYTOYS™ to deliver a greater variety of high
quality prints and note cards to our customers.
Eileen's love affair with the camera started at the age of 7, but her
career in photography began in Europe in 1987 when she won several photography awards,
including an Honorable Mention in an All-Europe competition. Early success was
followed by an apprenticeship with Jim Johnson, a commercial photographer from Wisconsin,
and training from the New York Institute of Photography. She graduated from NYI in
1990, excelling in her studies.
Though she is best known for her work with military subjects and portraiture (Swanson Studios of Colorado Springs, CO), Eileen has always loved photographing the out-of-doors; landscapes and especially macro work with flowers and wildlife. The images found on our
Railroad Calendars and Note Cards page are the result of that love. She considers God the artist...Eileen has also been published in newspapers in Germany, South Carolina, and Colorado. Child models photographed by her have won awards such as Most Photogenic, Second Princess, and Miss January for a national calendar. She also served as yearbook photography advisor to a Colorado high school - the yearbook won first place in the National Scholastic Press and Columbia Scholastic Press competitions.
More recent work completed by Eileen include photographs of the occupants of an elderly residents home in Haddon Heights, NJ for their annual calendar. You will be proud to give or happy to receive any photographic item created by Eileen Swanson as a gift.

the continental United States except where otherwise noted. Standard Shipping means
that HIGBYTOYS™ chooses the most economical carrier
and method of shipping your order so that costs are held to a minimum and so that we can
continue to offer our products at the best possible prices to all our customers. For
example, books are normally shipped using USPS "Media Rate" which is a lower
priority mailing service and may take a week to ten days for delivery depending on your
location. Some customers have asked us to offer higher priority alternative shipping
service to speed order delivery. We now offer our customers Priority Shipping*
service for which you must add Priority Shipping* fees to the cost of
each item ordered according to the table below. The Priority Shipping*
fees listed in the table below correspond with the bracketed [a] code that is displayed to the right of the

I'd like to see an item in person before I
buy--can this be arranged?
Items are described as accurately as possible with details about any imperfections along
with a photo image. However, some people just love to see and touch the item in person.
Although our "brick and mortar" establishment is temporarily closed for
renovations, it may be possible for you to see an item in person depending on where you
live and how far you're willing to travel. We usually deal at several toy train and hobby
shows each year in the Philadelphia, PA and southern New Jersey region as
well as the TCA Train Meets in York, PA during April and October each year
and can bring an item along if you want to see it or pick it up in person. When you shop
at shows, you have the opportunity to examine items before you purchase them. On the other
hand, shows can be inordinately competitive and time-consuming for a small business like HIGBYTOYS™, as well as being costly for you to attend (in
addition to your travel expenses, show admission tickets are now approaching the $10
level). Ultimately, prices are kept to a minimum by focusing on our e-business trade,
which we strive to do. If you reside in or plan to be visiting the Philadelphia, PA
or southern New Jersey region, we may be able to arrange a meeting with you at a
scheduled area toy train or hobby show. However, everything is shipped with a satisfaction guarantee, and returns are acceptable (see "How are Returns handled?" below). Go to TOP of Page
Are the items guaranteed?
In a word, Yes--when your payment is received , your order is shipped immediately* via
USPS Insured Mail (or UPS for larger, bulky items). All items are very carefully packaged
in a manner to prevent damage in transit (e.g. calendars and unframed calendar posters and
prints are rolled up and mailed in very sturdy mailer tubes; framed calendar posters,
prints, books and small print sets are packaged in flat, padded envelopes or boxes). When
you receive your order, you should immediately examine the items carefully, and contact us
if anything is damaged or not as described as listed here on our Web pages. If within 15
days of your original order you are not satisfied with everything, we will
arrange for a return shipment, and your payment less shipping,
handling and applicable credit card and PayPal transaction fees will be gladly

How are order cancellations & returns handled?
You should immediately contact us either by email HIGBYTOYS@yahoo.com,
or telephone (610) 635-0519 to tell us that you wish to cancel an order or return an item
and the reason. We will refund your payment less any shipping, packaging and applicable
PayPal transaction fees following notification and when we receive returned item(s) within
15 days of your original order date. Additionally, to defray the cost of
processing returns (e.g. unpacking & checking returned package contents, re-entering
item into inventory database, etc.), at our discretion we are also now charging a
re-stocking fee of 15% - 20% of the purchase price of the certain returned item(s) at the
descretion of Higbytoys management. We ask that you carefully package items to be returned
in their original containers with all original instructions and inserts, and mail them USPS
insured mail (or UPS insured delivery for bulky items).
In practice, cancellations & returns are very rare, as we make every effort to accurately describe items to prospective purchasers, and we package items with the greatest care and insure them with the selected carrier to provide a measure of comfort in the unlikely event of loss or damage. Our objective is to provide excellent customer service at the lowest possible price, and so that's where we'll focus our energy.
