Foaled in 1970, *Bandama is the "Grande Dam" of Hilltop Acres. She
is
the last surviving offspring of the "Queen of Poland" and "Legend
of
Janow", Bandola. *Bandama produced eight foals in Poland before being
exported to the U.S. in 1984, selling through the Polish Ovation Sale
for $650,000. Since coming to the U.S., she has had ten more foals -
the last produced when she was 25.
Her sire, Celebes, lived to 28 and sired 16 stallions, 5 of which were
retained in Poland. His sons included Etap, sire of Set, Euros, Wiking,
Bekas and Polonez; Algomej, Nat'l Champion of Sweden, Polish Nat'l
Champion, and sire of Epizod, Deficyt, and Estyma; Aloes, 1982 Polish
Nat'l Champion and sire of El Ghazi, and the mares Enaria and Equitana,
'82 Polish Jr. Nat'l Champion Mare; and Pepi. Among Celebes' daughters
were Ekstaza, '81 Polish Nat'l Champion Mare, Elewacja, '79 Polish Nat'l
Champion Mare, and
Algeria, '82 Polish Nat'l Ch. Mare.
Bandola was a full sister to *Bask, *Banio and Arfa. She
was the dam of
*Bajram, Canadian Ch. Stallion; *Barysz, US & Canadian Top Ten Stallion;
*Bandos; *Banzaj; *Banat; and Ballada - dam of *Balon, Swedish Nat'l
Champion Stallion.
