Gus is the cat at the theatre door |

His name as I ought to have told you before |

Is really Asparagus, that’s such as fuss to pronounce |

That we usually call his just Gus. |

1)Sir Henry Irving (1838-1905). 原名 John Henry Brodribb。是英國著名的莎劇演員,於1895年以其卓越的演出受封為騎士,是英倫第一位受此榮譽的演員。
2)Sir Herbert Draper Beerbohm (1853-1917). 英國著名演員,英國皇家戲劇學院的創辦人。於1909年受封為騎士。
3)Blackheath Halls,倫敦東南部首屈一指的歌劇院。

7)這句Smart很有可能翻譯錯了的,因為curdling本意是指「黏稠」的意思;可是Smart無法將它們成為完整的中文,亦對這句無任何把握;所以若有錯的話,請多多包涵及指教。
