| Drove from Cedar City, UT to Las Vegas, NV. Spent the afternoon checking out the hotel (The Orleans), then went to see the Blue Man Group at the Lexor in the evening. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| The Orleans is a nice casino, off 'The Strip.' Stayed here because that's where the hockey arena is located. Will see a game on Tuesday. After checking out the hotel, I discovered a movie theater in the hotel so went and saw 'Ocean's Twelve'. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| John arrived around 7:30 pm and we headed to the Lexor to see the Blue Man Group. Very, very good show. Lots of audience participation. Worth seeing if you're ever in town (or if they're in a showplace near you). | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Took a tour of Hoover Dam then down to 'The Strip' to check it out in the evening. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The Hoover Dam was built during the depression (1931-1936?) to tame the Colorado River. Its purpose is to control floods, store water for irrigation, and to provide hydroelectric power. It also provides recreation and a habitat for fish and wildlife. We took a bus tour there and visited the museum and other areas of interest by the dam. Quite an amazing story. |

| There was a nice display of exhibits portraying tools that were used and stories of the building of the dam. For all my proofreading buddies, they needed us back then. |
