Rested for a few minutes after the tour of Hoover Dam then down to The Strip to check out the heart of Las Vegas.  Ate at a nice restaurant called Nine Fine Irishmen in the New York-New York Hotel.  An Irish pub.  Delicious seafood chowder.
Week Three - Southeast
Sat, 10/30 - Fri, 11/5
We walked up and down snapping photos and visiting some of the majestic hotels and casinos in the area.  At almost every corner there were individuals trying to give John (and every other man in sight) brochures for call girls.  Got annoying after awhile.

About Me
This was taken outside the Bellagio.  The water show was synchronized to music.  We saw two of them.  Really nice.  Inside the Bellagio, there was a beautiful display of flowers, trees, balls and decorations, etc. for the holidays.  Well worth the long walk to find it.

Tour bus picked us up at 5:45 am (what were we thinking?!?!) for a plane ride over the Hoover Dam, a helicopter ride into the Grand Canyon, a boat ride on the Colorado River in the Canyon, and a bus ride to the rim for some photo opportunities.  In the evening, on to the Freemont Street Experience.
Here's the Hoover Dam taken from the airplane.  Quite spectacular.  Photos don't do it justice.

Photos from helicopter didn't come out so well (window was scratched up).

Helicopter ride was very cool.  It's only the second one I've been in.
Here's John and me on the boat ride on the Colorado.

Learned lots about the Indians who once dwelled in these parts.  I believe it was the Hualapai.   They have a reservation on one side of the canyon (west part of canyon).  Our boat captain's name was Neil.  He was Indian.   He had no indian name but said his wife calls him Man who Dances With Women.

Guess you had to be there.  It was funny when he said it.
