This was taken on the west rim of the Grand Canyon.  The area has been in a drought for the last 10 years.  You can see in this photo where the water line of the Colorado River was once.  The water line gets lower and lower each passing year.
Week Nine - Las Vegas
Sat, 12/11 - Fri, 12/17
After a short nap for me (John went down and gambled a bit while I rested), we headed to Freemont Street for the evening.
Week Ten - California
Sat, 12/18 - Fri, 12/24
Freemont Street, once known as 'Glitter Gulch' has been transformed into a pedestrian mall area with a canopy covering the 4 block area.  It still contains the 'glitter' which is quite endearing.  It has a spectacular light/movie show on the canopy in the evening.  All casino lights 'glitter' shut off while this show is playing.  Visitors stand in the middle of the mall area and just gawk at the show.  Yes, quite worth the visit.  I didn't even know such a place existed in Las Vegas.

Here's Freemont Street.

You can see all the 'glitter'.  Older casinos like the 4 Queens and the Golden Nugget are in this area.

Take note of the overhead canopy.  This is where they displayed the light/movie show.  All the lights were shut off while the show was displayed.
And there were no pamphet pushing call girl people in this area.
