In this photo, you can see the Conoco 'gas pump' a little better - mid left side.  Also shown are two quirky things of this ballpark:  A 10 degree incline in the center field, and the American Flag pole 'in play.'

And here's me, sitting in the Astro's dug out. 

The gift shop at Minute Maid disappointed me.  No lapel pins, no post cards. 
After the ballpark, I headed over to see the San Jacinto Monument and Battleground.  I learned alot about Texas history during my visit here.  On April 26, 1836, Texas won its independence (from Mexico) when an outnumbered Texian army heroically defeated the Mexican forces on the plains of San Jacinto.
The San Jacinto Monument honors all those who fought for Texas independence.

It remains the world's tallest memorial tower.

And, it has the star of Texas on top.
After visiting this monument, I headed to Galveston.
