Security is one of the most important divisons in Starfleet. Security personnel are trained to keep enemies from boarding the ship and gaining control of its systems. They also fuction as guards, battle personnel, and away team forces.
By the uniforms used from 2350s onward, gold had become the color of security, and this has continued through several uniform styles.
Hikaru Sulu was assigned aboard the USS Enterprise as Helmsman/Tactical officer. Worf served as security officer aboard the USS Enterprise-D. Odo performed station security on Deep Space Nine. Aboard USS Voyager, Tuvok was the security officer. Malcolm Reed was posted as armory officer aboard the Enterprise. |
