Saturday August 24th 2002-2 Shows
The first show began about 12:15 PM, and there were about 12 children, as well as some of thier parents in audience. Rain loomed over while Space Igloo entertained the kids, thankfully it held off till the end of the show.
New props and gags in this improved act included the Space Umbrella, the Astroid Belt, the Meteor Shower Cap, the Space Igloo Work Out Video, and the Space Igloo song book. The show also featured a "hot potato" type game using Igloo's globe and included four lucky kids that were picked to participate! The original 15 minute show from 2 weeks prior was expanded to a 1/2 hour with the new gags and games. Igloo kept the kids on the edge of thier seats the entire time!
The second show that day began just before 2 PM, and the skies were much clearer for that one. There were about 8 kids in the audience this time, with some parents peppered about. This was the smallest crowd Igloo has ever played to so far, and it was a challenge! Igloo handled them like a pro, giving them his all, and even was able to quell a lone heckler! (In a crowd of 8!?)
Afterwards the Look Communications people seemed quite happy with the quality and quantity of Igloo's shows, although they were a little disappointed that not more people took advantage of the very nice day that Look had organized.
There was a BBQ with hamburgs and hotdogs, as well as Veggie Burgers, and lots of donuts! There was also juice, pop and coffee. There was a raffle every hour for great prizes, tours of the facility, and a chance to learn more about Look's products and services. Igloo and his two kids took advantage of the tour, which was given by Rob. Thanks Rob for a great tour!
It was also nice to work beside fellow Woodstockoian, Gretta, and her girls from ACT, or Adventures in Children's Theatre. Gretta and the girls did face painting after Igloo's 2 shows, and everyone seemed to enjoy the great art work they did!
A great big thanks goes to Michael Bartlett for setting this whole gig up, Igloo appreciates the experience very much! Thanks too goes to Marc and Crystal for thier continued support of Igloo's career!
