You're 10 - 11 weeks along
General Nutrition:
You are in the last two weeks of the first trimester.  You are probably not showing yet, but you feel pregnant.  Morning sickness tends to peak at 10 weeks, so hold on it's almost over.  You can help out by keeping something on your stomach at all times. Very hot or cold drinks also helps reduce morning sickness.

You may have asked "How much weight should I gain?"  The best amount depends on how much you weighed before you got pregnant:

    If you were
overweight, it's best to gain 15 lbs or so during preg..
    If you were
normal weight, it's best to gain 25 - 40 lbs
    If you were
underweight, it's best to gain 28 - 40 lbs

HOWEVER, DO NOT TRY TO LOSE WEIGHT DURING              PREGNANCY.    Instead, talk to your doctor about proper diet and weight control.

Daily prenatal vitamins and good nutrition will help the baby.  Important parts of you diet include;

Protein at each meal from meat group, cheese, eggs,         or beans.

Calcium, Vit A and D from 2 glasses of milk each day

B Vitamins from whole grains, breads, and noodles.

Vitamin C from fruits or juices.

Your doctor may also ask you to take iron if tests show you are low in iron.  Ask your doctor about it.  Most of the time however, simple prenatal vitamins provide sufficient amounts of iron.
What type of activities can I do anyway?
Basically you can continue your daily routine such as work, excercise, and sex with the following guidlines.

Work: You can work right up to the end of pregnancy if you fell up to it or until the baby "tells you to stop." The baby will tell you to stop working by starting contractions, swelling, fatigue, or high blood pressure.  In these cases your doctor will advise you about your work status.

There are some jobs that may cause you problems.  You should avoid working around certain chemicals, fumes, x-rays.  If you are worried about your job safty just ask your doctor.

Excercise: If you were active before pregnancy you can stay active during pregnancy.  There are some things you should avoid such as contact sports where you may get hit in the belly. Sky  diving, bungie-jumping, or scuba diving should be avoided.  Hiking is OK as long as it is not too stainuous or above 8,000 foot elevation.  If you road horses prior to pregnancy you can continue during pregnancy.

Sexual Relations: You can continue to have sex as long as it is not causing bleeding or pain.  You may need to use a lubricant like Astroglide since you will not produce as much natural lubricants during pregnancy.  Some women find sex more comfortable during pregnancy if they are on top or lying side by side.  The most important thing is to be open with your partner about your concerns and fears.

Sometimes you can not or do not want to have intercourse during pregnancy, but you still can cuddle and keep the father of your baby involved in the pregnancy.

You start bonding with your baby very early as your body starts to change.  The father-to-be does not feel these changes.  So sometimes he will feel like an outsider.  He may even become jealous of your bonding.  This is why it is so important to talk and discuss their feelings too.  Men who are well informed and attend birthing classes often feel they have been an important part of the baby's future.  So get them involved.
The Doctor's visit:  This is the time most patients will have their "first OB visit" when a pelvic exam, PAP smear,  and lots of labs are done.  Your baby's heart beat is heard for the first time between 10 and 12 weeks, so you may be able to hear it during this visit.  Your doctor may get  an early ultrsound to date the pregancy and confirm your due date. Your  doctor will probably set up visits about every 4 weeks during the first half of your pregnancy.  During these visits he will measure your tummy size; listen to the fetal heart rate;  make sure your weight, blood pressure, and health are good.  Make sure to tell him any concerns and changes you have

30 weeks till delivery !
Hi mom I'm 10 weeks old
10 - 11 weeks
length: 3 - 3 1/2 in (9 -10 cm)
weight: 20 grams
Landmarks
Your body
Morning sickness peaks
Your appetite starts to increase
Constipation may start.  Increased  fluid intake helps prevent it.
Your nipples begin to enlarge and     the areola (area around the nipple)    begins to darken.
baby's sex organs are developing.
baby's eyes, ears, nose, and mouth    are taking their final shape.
The sound you hear is a fetal heart beat.  It's rate is about 140 beats per minute.
Your baby's heart has been beating   for about 4 to 5 weeks.  It starts      out fast (around 180 beats/ minute)  then slows down to 120 to 160        beats per minute. Your baby's heart  rate will be checked with every        visit.

The height of your uterus will also   be checked with every visit.  From    14 weeks to about 36 weeks the       height of the uterus (from the pubic  bone to the top of the uterus)          corresponds to the weeks of   pregnancy.
Each time you come in to the clinic you will be asked to give a urine sample.  The sample will be checked for protein and glucose.  This helps the doctor to track your health.  A high protein can be from infection or a special type of high blood pressure.  Glucose in the urine can indicate a type of diabetes.
