I had the opportunity to live in England from 1986 to 1990. We lived in the port town of Felixstowe for 2 years and we then moved onto the RAF base at Woodbridge/Bentwaters. They were both American bases that were being leased from the British government. Both of the bases closed down soon after we left in 1990. I fell in love with the country while living there. I also slowly began to develop a fascination for British History. Especially with the Medieval time period and the history of the monarchy. The monarchy as it is now and how it was then is truly like a soap opera you would see on modern day television. The country as a whole has been through so many changes. And although the British Empire made it a point to take over other people's countries and try to make them their own, it is still incredibly interesting reading up on the history of the nation. I have included some pictures of the United Kingdom that I found on the web. Some of them were also donated by a good friend of mine named Dan. He was a freshman at Woodbridge American High School when I was a junior. Although I did not know him then I have to say that it is indeed a great thrill to get the chance to know him now!!! To Dan, I say thanks for the pictures and the interesting chat's that we have had so far!! And I hope we have many more to come!!
