George Isley, son of Philip of Malachi, and Martha "Patsy" Atkinson Isley and their Isley family are the first Isley's known to have moved to Alabama. George's family moved to Jackson County, Alabama from Georgia prior to the 1850 census. The exact date is unknown; however, it would have been after 3 February 1843 when a newspaper in Gwinnett County, Georgia reported a sheriff's sale "where George Iseley resides and Philip Iseley formerly resided." His family then moved to Missouri in 1853.

George Washington Isley - son of Henry of George of Malachi - and his family moved to Morgan County, Alabama from Indiana in 1878. Most of his descendants are still living in Alabama. Click
