Newport Dunes Resort
We made our annual trip along with Pete, Rhonda and family down to  Newport Beach Harbor at the Newport Dunes RV Resort. This is a 5 star RV resort because they have a swimming pool, their own store, laundry facilities, video game room, and bike paths you can take directly to Balboa Island for a day of shopping. We took our boat to the harbor and toured around the harbor to take in all the wonderful luxuries that Newport has to offer.

This was a weekend during July 2001 that was very relaxing and fun.......well except not quite so much for Pete and Rhonda because they had to go into work at their business on a couple of days.

This place is full of every type of expensive toys you can imag ne. You will see what I'm talking about as you look at the pictures below. We had a lot of fun just looking around at all the great motorhomes, boats and other toys.
A view of our campsites and then looking down the road in front of the sites. They're a little small but are very clean with full hookups. Our motorhome is the brown class C but as you can see,  big class A's are the more typical coach out there.
We actually had a problem with the reservations so we went ahead and stayed in the overflow campsite on the last night. We got a chance to test our RV's to see how well it worked self contained and they did teriffic!  Trisha and Alan standing next to a newer coach to see how they looked next to it!  Not bad eh?
The boys (and girls) and their toys!!!!  Robert, Kelley and Pete trying this very cool golf cart out!  We met the guy that builds these at the resort. Rhonda  found out  more information about the builder. He is actually a forklift repairman that got into the business when one of his customers asked him to look at his golfcart to repair.

He charges $4,000.00-$4,500.00 for a gas powered four passenger( including an ice chest) and a two passenger electric one for $3,500.00
The guy's name is Steve and his phone number is (949) 230-5958

More examples of the big toys at this RV resort. Here is Jeff and Alan posing in front of a very "go fast" boat! and now take a look at this coach!  The coach is beautiful itself but their companion vehicle is a Mercedes under the cover!!!  Even their chair matched the awnings!.
Here are a couple of Jeff's  families toys....and I do mean a couple of toys because they have a whole bunch more at home. You can read more about this  tug boat in the "Tugtanic Maiden Voyage" web page at this site.  Jeff decided they needed a stronger truck to be able to tow when they have both fifth wheel trailer and whichever boat they decided  to take in tow. Jeff rebuilt an old rusty ranch truck into a high performance truck and it now matches their tug boat and their ski boat!!
