| Buena Vista is how we usually refer to this location but is actually officially known as "Buena Vista Aquatic Recreational Area". There are two lakes here, the largest where we camp right on the shore is called Lake Webb and a smaller lake named Lake Evans. The lakes are manmade completed April 1973 and took only 43 days to fill both lakes. Not known as scenic lakes, they were built mainly for recreation such as jet skiing, water-skiing and a little fishing. What this recreational area is known for is their really comfortable and large flat campsites. Most of the sites have full hookups, a very large grass camping area with mature trees, and an asphalt pull-through area for your RV's. Buena Vista is located 26 miles south of Bakersfield, California, off of interstate 5. |

| What is becoming an annual tradition, a growing group of friends are getting together either from the "Westside" (the area from where Alan grew up) and another group from SCE. This year there were a total of about 140 people with the two groups combined. I think we took over most of the "point" on the waterfront this year......I sure had pity on the people that weren't a part of our group that had a couple of sites between the rest of us! Below are a few photos of the weekend but as usual, I took very few photos because I was too busy having fun! | Saturday night was also an ice cream party. Pete and Rhonda supplied the ice cream, the rest brought their favorite toppings....yummy! And thank you Pete, Rhonda and the girls! |
