Meet The Pets
"This is my favorite pink sweater that my dad got me to wear in a parade.  It keeps me so warm."
Precious Minnie Pearl Mallul
Born 5-17-1992
"My name is Precious Minnie Pearl Mallul.  I am a little female Maltese with papers to prove it. I was born in Hesperia, CA, and at age 8 weeks, adopted by my parents Joyce and Mike Mallul.  At that time they lived in Apple Valley, CA, on 2 1/2 acres in the country.  While we lived there, my dad built me a little patio and fenced area so I could go out my doggie door and bark at the world.  We joined Mojave Greens K-9 Training Club when I was 5 mo. old,  and I became the star of the club since I was so cute and little and my dad was so big and tall. One time we were even on television showing how well trained we all were, and the reporter even interviewed my dad. Now that it is just me and my mom, I have her wrapped around my paw and I can do anything I want to - all my training has gone to pot - not my fault. though; my mom is not consistent with me; and she actually needs a refresher course.     "When I first got home with mom and dad, I was so confused.  But I soon found that there was a bed just for me, and bowls just for me and even a dad with long legs to climb on. Wow, this was such fun to climb up his legs and then way up high behind him also.  I would climb up as high as I could and fall asleep on dad's recliner behind him, until one night we both went to sleep, and I rolled over and off on the floor.  Luckily it didn't hurt me at all, so I kept wanting to climb up there to sleep more, but dad wouldn't let me after that.
Life was great back then, and I started going to class and met many other dogs and people.  Actually I like people better than other animals, including dogs, and really show off for them."
Sir Kiley, Prince of Wren
Born 7-15-1988 - Died 6-19-1992
We bought Kiley from a new neighbor, even before we got moved into our new Apple Valley home, so she agreed to keep him for us until we were ready.  Kiley was 5 mo. old when we finally took him, and since he already knew his name, we decided not to change it when we registered him with AKC.  However, we did decide to add to it; hence his full name Sir Kiley, Prince of Wren (Wren being the road that we lived on).  Kiley was a Shetland Sheepdog (sheltie) with sable and white coloring and had the most wonderful personality of any dog I have ever met.  He was most at home outside roaming on his fenced one acre back yard, and when we had him groomed and brought him in  on occasion, he would stand near the sliding glass door until we let him out again.  He loved to chase and, on occasion, would kill the wild critters that came into our yard from the desert.  Kiley was such a good watch dog, and when he died at such a young age, both Mike and I were heart broken and said we would never again get another pet to love.  We already had three great cats that had been killed.  But 3 or 4 mo. later that all changed when we bought Minnie Pearl.
