I mean, who wouldn't want a giant, fire-breathing, meat-eating lizard to help you wreck havoc and devastation?
He was anxiously looking forward to the hatching of the clutch, not to mention the horrifying violence and carnage that was sure to follow. That was always fun.
It was a dark, overcast day when the eggs began to crack. That was not very unusual, the sky over Arx Atra Mons was usually dark and cloudy.
The eggs were cracking, and the bonders were brought to the sands from wherever they had been before. First out were several serpernt-like creatures, most of which ended up as meals for their higher-ranking siblings. Most of the beasts completely ignored Tialdusk, which was perfectly fine with him. He was still not completely used to this new body, and without any supernatural powers, he felt almost helpless.
Of course, that was until a small beast decided to hide behind him. Scowling at the small creature in disgust, he kicked it, but it refused to move. A larger beast, with four heads, four legs, and four tails, looked their way. This dragon seemed to have something for the number four.
It rushed towards its smaller sibling and its unwilling protector, darting between Tialdusk's legs to grab the smaller hatching in its four jaws. The four barbed tails flailed around, hitting Tialdusk.
He screamed, then, grabbing all four of the tails, he hauled the beast up, by sheer determination and adreneline. Perhaps this body wasn't so bad after all.
"Breasal, you evil little..." The former demon laughed. "I bet you're better than anything Taisser could ever find, my war-pain bond..."
Breasal didn't answer, and continued to munch contentedly on the beast in his multiple jaws, and that was that.
Tai'nix growled in reply, but couldn't move. "Breasal, Tai'nix, stop playing!" Tialdusk snapped at the fighting hydras as he strode into the cavern where the two beasts had been battling, followed by his identical 'brother', Taisser. Breasal bristled at his bond's accusation of 'playing' and his command, but reluctantly climbed off the bond of his bond's brother.
I'm bored. The Majestic-level beast whined uncharacteristically. I want to go chase somewhere. He demanded, glaring imperiously at the tall human man. Tialdusk shrugged and acquiesced.
Tai'nix's two heads snorted. What do you mean? One head asked. We thought you were going to chase in that Lantessaman Run. The other head stated.
That one isn't going to be run for a while yet. I want something to do now! Breasal growled. There's another beast in heat at Enzan Shi Deragonray. He said to his bond, who only nodded in reply.
Tai'nix glared at the other hydra. No fair, how come he gets to chase? Tai'nix demanded. We want to go to this Enzan Shi and chase too!
"You can't." Taisser said as he smirked at his dragon. "You don't qualify for the winged hydra flight."
"And Taisser would make a horrible leader, anyway." Tialdusk added.
Taisser growled, his black eyes glaring daggers at his brother as he pulled out a sword. He brandished the weapon at Tialdusk, but Breasal's warning growls made him pause. With a sigh, he resheathed the sword. "Oh hell, you're right. I would make a bad leader."
Tialdusk smirked at the other man and turned back to his beast. "Who is it you want to chase anyway, Breasal?"

Tai'nix considered making some sarcastic comment, but wisely kept his mouths shut.
