Baby Matt grew and grew and grew!

And with Matt's growth came several pros and cons.

Kelda has found a sleeping baby to be a great souce of warmth on chilly and sometimes not so chilly nights. They are great to snuggle up next too. And when a baby is still and quiet, they can't pull ears or grab tails. They are as perfect as can be. And Kelda has lofty standards of what perfect is, so she hopes baby Matt knows what a compliment that is. (Ofcourse, Kelda won't let anyone know she enjoys this special time with the baby or they too might expect some snuggling.)

But when babies are awake, they DO pull ears and tails. That's not something Kelda enjoys. The
kittens may be able to tolerate it, but not her. And now that Matt is moving around like a cat (up on all fours), she has to maintain a safe distance between her and that baby all the time.

That dumb dog, Kelda's arch-rival,
Jasmine,  doesn't seem to mind Matt pulling on her tail and ears. The dog seems to ENJOY it!!! (more proof that Jasmine is in fact very dumb). What's even more disgusting is that Matt will try to put Jasmine's tail in his (ewww) mouth! But Matt is always putting strange things in his mouth. It must be part of human development. (more proof to support the hypothesis Kelda has about cats being the more intelligent species)

Matt recently celebrated his half birthday and a few weeks later went trick-or-treating (a strange ritual in which humans clothe themselves perculiarly and wander about outside ringing door bells and collecting kitty treats.)  Although, Kelda was not pleased when her
humans gave away perfectly good sweets to silly little children!

This brings us to Kelda's next positive thing about babies. FOOD. Kelda got some of the frosting from Matt's cake. She also shared in some of the kitty treats collected at Halloween. And with the new teeth Matt received (both bottom lateral incisors), his meals are cat-worthy. So if a cat waits long enough by Matt's high chair, they will be blessed with food falling from the sky. Good news for Kelda because sometimes that food happens to be sweet and tasty.

All and all, babies are okay by Kelda. And as he grows, he can do more for Kelda...first she'll work on getting him to stop pulling ears. Then the rest will follow.
