Dwarves
Appearance

Dwarves are stout, broad shouldered, strongly built, and known for their foul tempers and great stamina. Not very humorous, often very serious, they have a love for good booze, gold, and precious metals. All Dwarves (male and female) wear beards, which they are quite proud of, as a sign of age, wisdom, and beauty. Very few have lived after tugging on a Dwarf's beard. Dwarves often stand from 3' 6" to 5' tall, and are usually rather muscular. Though not as smart as humans, they are usually wiser because of their longer lifespans. The main draw back of a dwarf is they have too much pride and take easy offense from insults and even friendly jokes. Dwarves although proud race are not arrogant like elves. The elven arrogance is a major reason for the dislike between the two races. Other races find dwarves relatively unattractive, as their stocky bodies and bearded faces seem too masculine and rough for most people.

Bloodlines

Dwarves are proud of their bloodlines, the craftsmanship of their caverns, their mines, and their weapons and armor. All of these tend to be extremely strong and generally of great quality. Almost all dwarven societies live underground, and the grueling work of building caverns, mines, and other such structures fits their natural penchant for hard work very well. They are fierce fighters and make excellent guards, preferring axes but using anything at hand. Warriors hold the ability to become a berserker in the midst of battle.

Sects

Mountain Dwarves
Mountain dwarfs are the most numerous of the rare dwarven races. Mountain dwarves have light brown skin and smooth cheeks and bright eyes. Their hair is brown, black gray or occasionally white. The Mountain dwarves consider themselves the only true dwarves. They delve deep into their subterranian realms in search of ever more wealth. Mountain dwarves prefer to be warriors, but are also skilled at thivery and the clerical arts.

They mine the mountain ranges, forge metal goods and sell them to the elves and humans in the cities. Mountain dwarfs are driven by money and gold in particular. Their maps were sought after by all other races. Most Dwarven maps are family heirlooms, closely guarded by dwarf families and clans. Mountain dwarves live in isolated mining camps spread throughout any mountain range.

Mountian DwarvesDark Dwarves

Dark Dwarves
Dark dwarves are conniving and scheming, They are always looking for ways to further their own evil self interest. They prefer the dark dwellings of deeper caverns, and are easily distinguishable from other dwarves because of their paler complexions, larger eyes and their ability to use magic.
