Throughout the following years, Gloria devoted herself to political issues and pushed for political changes. She wrote for a magazine as well as a TV show and covered important topics such as the Martin Luther King Jr assassination.
Her commitment in politics further helped her realize that women were oppressed as a class and a sex, and she decided to re-focus on women’s interests. She focused on the current women’s liberation movement, and explained theories on the “new feminism.” Throughout her career Gloria met several powerful women that further influenced her towards continuing a movement that demanded equality between men and women.
