Let's talk about showing
Lambs....
Hey there!
I'm your Lamb Club correspondent:
Lamb Club has grown tremendously during the
last few decades, and the club has now passed
its 36th year.  We hope to continue to be a
strong youth related  program here in
Manchester  Michigan.
The Lamb Club is sponsored by the members'
parents. Remember to spend some
quality time together and practice with your
lambs at  home. Get your lambs use to being handled
and moved around. Before you know, it will
be that time of year again!
Every member has two lambs. One is
usually larger than the other. Both are shown.
L A M B  CLUB's Featured Tips:
Our Club Lambs are Market Lambs
that exhibit many desirable traits. Lambs are thick and fresh for handling. Long straight tops and level, square rumps are very important in market lamb classes. Market classes exhibit the muscling and meat quality of the animal.

A top*notch showman should have the right
     attitude.

Be well groomed, and clothes should
     be neat and clean.

Be pleasant (smile) be alert, and be in the
     ring on time.

Keep your eyes on the lamb and be aware of
the judges position at all times. Try to
keep the lamb between you and the judge
    and step to the left.

Be ready to answer questions about your
     project.

Keep a straight line moving clockwise but do
     not crowd.

Know how to make your lamb respond.   A
lamb has certain "pressure points"  that
can work for you in the show ring. Firmly
hold the lambs head and set all four legs
     squarely.

  Don't get discourged.
