| NEW UPDATES: NBA Ranking from January 23rd (1/31/06) NBA Ranking from January 30th (1/31/06) The Ranking (JBCS) was created after the 2002 season to try and fix the problems commonly associated with the current Bowl Championship Series. I began the ranking as a very simple formula very similar to the BCS. As time progressed, I got older and my knowledge of how a good ranking should be composed expanded. The knowledge I have learned is shown in this 2005 Ranking. Other rankings included are the Ranking for the NBA and the Ranking for MLB. The basic composition of these Rankings include: Average Game Score - A point total given to each game (win or loss) and then is averaged for the entire season. Strength of Schedule - The averaged rank of their opponent's. Combined Ranks - The average ranking (from three rankings) of a team. However, this function will disapear beginning in the winter/spring of 2006/2007. Losses - The total number of losses for each team. The total is then accumulated by adding all of these components together. The College Football ranking will come out every monday throughout the season. The end of the year ranking will come out on the day after the Rose Bowl (January 5th.) The NBA ranking will begin on Monday, December 19th and will continue to run weekly throughout the season. The MLB ranking will also come out on Mondays throughout the season. The formula for all of the rankings will undergo a drastic change after the current seasons. The combined ranks part will be dropped and to make up for that will be an average of the rankings from the last five weeks.
