This is the manga section at MangaCrisis.Com. On this page you will find reviews on mangas, terminology that you may not find familiar, and a complete walkthrough of how my reviews work and what they are based on.
WARNING: My reviews are pretty darn long, but that is because I have detailed summaries in each review. If you do not care for the detailed summaries, each review also provides a short summary from the back of the manga.

Terminology for Manga Genres
- Shoujo
- Shoujo means for young girls, but today this basically means growing up. Shoujo mangas usually have to do with teenagers and their struggel growing up.
- Yaoi
- This is a term that basically means guy on guy action. These type of series have to do with men relationships that include sex, sex, sex... Also, I know that yaoi is basically gay porn, but for the sake of simplicity I will classify anything that is yaoi if it makes even a suggestion of sex with another man.
- Shounen-Ai
Yaoi's little sister, basically men hugging, kissing, and doing everything above the belt. Of course, shounen-ai is basically men love without the sex because of the younger age targets.
- Mystery
- Just how it sounds, mystery are for mangas that involve MYSTERY!!! amazing, huh???
- Action
- This goes anywhere from sports, to gun fighting.
- Comedy
- This stuff makes you laugh, and the point of the series is to give you some giggles.
- Romance
- These type of series have to do with people forming relationships with one another (whether this is hetro or homosexual) and there struggle to overcome the obstacles presented in their relationship (most of the time this is can be defined as a shoujo manga, too).
Each Review Contains:
Image and Description of Reviewed Volume:
This section of the review includes basic information about the reviewed manga, the back description of the volume, and an image of the cover.
Story Review:
In this section of the review I rank the overall plot/story of the manga.
Artwork Review:
In this section of the review I rank the overall artwork of the manga. Does it fit the overall feel the of the manga? Are the characters easy to follow? Stuff like that...
Characters/Character Development Review:
In this section I try to discuss if the characters are strong/weak. Also, have the characters progressed throughout the volume.
A Summary of the volume:
I try to make a decent summary of whatever the volume contains.
Note: This is just a basic outline of the story and the order of the summary might not be in the order that the book contains (I try to keep everything straight, but I own well over 350 mangas and some of my reviews are based on older reads).
Extras Review:
I try and make a quick summary of the extras included in whatever volume I tend to be reviewing.
Overall Comments and Final Score:
This is the final part of my reviews. I usually add a summary of the strengths and weaknesses of the volume then i give my final review. Below is the ranking guide for my reviews.
Ranking Guide:
1-2 | This manga/anime sucks! No one should ever read this, you would be better off dead.
3-4 | Below average. Few people will like this crap.
5 | Just an average manga/anime. With average characters, an average plot, and just about an average everything.
6-7 | Above average, but unless you worship the type of genre the manga's in then it probably isn't for you.
8 | A very good series and is recommended for anyone interested in the genre and possibly people outside of the genre.
9 | An excellent series that should please everyone even if you aren't particually interested in this stuff.
10 | A masterpiece, should be in anyones collection. | | | | | | |
I do give 7.5's and such. Pretty much, the lower the number the worse the review.
