Chapter 3 They reached the house and Kari went straight to her room.  She laid on the bed staring at the ceiling.  She was mad at herself for not telling him sooner.  But she was also mad at him for thinking that she would pass up the part if he would have asked her to.  She had been laying there for about 20 minutes when the door creaked open.  "Can I come in?", Jeff asked softly. "Whatever.", she snapped.  He sat down next to her on the bed and sighed loudly.  "I’m sorry.", he said, "I just wish you would have told me." "I wanted to, but I knew that this was how you would act.", she returned. "I just don’t want to be away from you that long.", he said grabbing her hand as he slid his body down to lay next to her. "I’m going to miss you too.  But it’s only a few months.  I’ll be back before you know it.  Besides, I’m sure I’ll get a few days off at least.  I can come visit you or you can come and visit me.", she said trying to reassure him that everything would be okay. He turned and looked her in the eye, "You really want this part, don’t you?"  "Yeah.  I really do.", she replied.   "Well, then I guess we’ll just have to deal with it then.", he said smiling at her.  She smiled and then kissed him.  The next day, Jeff and Kari shared an emotional good bye and then he and the others left for their next show.  The next few days went by quickly.  Jason drove Kari to the airport.  "You take care and call me every now and then to let me know that you’re okay.", she told him as the attendant called for her to board the plane.   "That goes both ways.", he said hugging her.  They waved good-bye and she headed off to Paris.  She couldn’t believe that she was really there as she walked onto the "Highlander" set.  She looked around and saw Adrian talking to one of the producers.  "Your dressing room is this way, Ms. Knight.", a production assistant called to her as she pointed to Kari’s left.  Adrian looked over at Kari and smiled.  "God, he’s sexy.", she thought to herself as she followed the young lady. Kari was sitting in her dressing room going over her lines when Adam walked in. "What are you doing here?", she asked in astonishment at the wrestlers presence. "I’ve got a part in the movie.", he informed her, "I just wanted to stop by and say hi before we got started." "Thanks.  I’m glad your here.  At least I know someone now.", she said with a laugh. "Yeah.  Me too.", he laughed, "I’ll see you later."  And with that he left.  She felt a sense of comfort knowing that he was there, as the assistant called for her to go to the make up trailer. After twelve long hours of filming, the producer finally called a wrap for the day.  Kari flopped down in a chair and took her shoes off.  "It’s harder than it looks, huh?", Adrian commented as he sat down in the chair beside her. "Yeah.  I always watched the show and stuff  but I never realized how much hard work you have to put your body through.", she said. "It will get easier.", he said with a smile.  She really liked his accent.  It made him even sexier, if that was possible. "Hey Kari.", Adam said pulling her away from the stare that the costars had found themselves in.  "Hey Adam.  You did really good today.", she said. "Thanks.  You want to go grab some coffee or something?", he asked.  "Thanks, but I’m beat.  I think I’m going to just go back to the hotel and crash.  Maybe tomorrow.", she declined.   "Okay.  I’ll see you tomorrow.", he responded. She stood up and started to walk away.  "Sleep well Ms. Knight.", Adrian called after her.  She turned around and smiled at him.  "What are you thinking?  You love Jeff.  Stop it.", she thought to herself as she made her way to the car, "I can still look though.  And he definitely is worth looking at."
