Mayol led us through the end of the fight scene tonight! Although this was just the "skeleton" of a fight -- it will be elaborated on as we go along.

Here is my track: I enter stage left after Pedro (Jaimie) has thrown Aldonza to the ground and he cracks his whip. I bump into him as I enter and then he chases me around the well. Then I circle upstage and remove the bucket on Quixote's head after Evan punches it. Then I hand Quixote the club and Aldonza the sword (?) I pick up the rake and hit Kevin with it as he passes me. Then I drag Evan over to the well and kick him in the head. I then go around looking for other fallen muleteers to knock unconscious with my rake and then..."Victory!"

Ohmygosh....I am writing this on Monday the 15TH, and God help me, I can't remember exactly what we did Friday night!!!

Hopefully it will come to me, so this will serve as a place holder if anything.
Yeeesh!
(okay it's starting to come back to me. Did we do the moorish dance, among other things? Ack!)

D'oh! I think I got confused about the call today. I must not have been all there last night when Jennifer announced the call for this weekend! My call was 1 pm but I got today's call confused with Sunday's call of 2:30. Sheepishly, I joined the other actors around 2:20 as we staged the Death scene. Sorry, guys!
I must say though, this is one of the more moving scenes in my entire theatrical career. I started to get choked up even with being late and having a stand-in for Quixote and no sets, costumes etc.

After the dinner break, Lorenzo had Mayol go over the opening with me and Sue. Lorenzo wanted a few more hits/slaps/throws etc delivered to my person via Sue! It was fun, doing stage combat, but still am glad I only get beat up in the first 5 minutes of the show....

Trying to make up for yesterday, I came a little bit early to the afternoon call (2:30) and was treated to Sarah and Paul finishing up the staging of the "Aldonza" song. All I can say is "WOW!"  Sarah does a terrific turn at this number with its intensity and grit. Like I said, "WOW!"
Tonight was our first "stumble - through" of the whole show. Lorenzo seemed pleased afterwards, and told us that we should be satisfied because we are where we should be at this point!  It was very fulfilling to be able to go through the whole show finally, and although we were without bumps, it nonetheless ran fairly smoothly.
We also had the luxury of an empty stage tonight, giving us a little idea of the expansive size that will eventually be the set. The set is slated to go in on Thursday.

I can't wait!
