I've been lax about updating my rehearsal journal. so, about a week's worth is missing!

Tonight was my first time to see the set! I must say it looks pretty impressive! It's a dark,  multi-leveled, raked set complete with drawbridge and winch complete with giant winch.

Tonight we just spaced the combat/fight scenes.

Today was the day that we video'd the commercial. Paul, Sarah and I were to meet at 8:30 am at the theater to get into make-up and costume. Paul arrived properly at 8 am while I (I should be SO fired!) woke up late and shamefully came in at 9 am ("multiple shame"). I don't put on any character makeup and it doesn't take me long to dress so I was still ready by 9:15 - our departure time. I rode with Ron Cacas as we all drove to a spot in Carmel, overlooking the pacific ocean. What a great site! We met the camera crew who was already there, complete with a 30 foot crane. We started with close-up shots of our profile, first Paul looking to the horizon, then me then Sarah. After a few shots of those we then did promo stills. After that we shot the long shots from behind. It starts with a long shot of Paul looking back at us, then turning around to gaze at the horizon. I run up to his left and Sarah to his right. The shoot lasted two hours and then Ron took us to Mountain Mike's for lunch! I had such a great time!
The evening rehearsal began (after vocal warmups) with a tour of the entire set.  We then started spacing the entire show from the top. We only got through about a third of the way through, though...

For the afternoon rehearsal, we finished spacing through the rest of the show.

For the evening rehearsal, we went through and spaced all the musical numbers on the set.

We did a run-through of the show today. I guess this is the first time we've run through the show in about two weeks, and also the first time on the set!
It sure felt good. I think we're getting to that point where we are hungering to run-through the show -- I'm sure we'll probably be changing our minds come tech-week!
Lorenzo seemed to be fairly pleased with the outcome. He even mentioned that some guests commented on how much they enjoyed my character. However, he warned me again of falling into the trap of "performance-mode" and reminded me to keep listening to what the other actors are offering me.
The evening rehearsal was a short one, consisting of working on the "Missive" scene and the "Knight Of The Mirrors" scene. Thankfully Lorenzo excused me for the KOTM scene since I don't do much in that scene...
