Of Shape And Action is an open project composed of n parts which have the peculiarity of assuming as starting material for sound processing the recording of some poems read by the author. In the case of And sound alone the poem is The idea of order at Key West by Wallace Stevens while The dying of the light and In the blinded room involve materials respectively from Do not go gently into that good night by Dylan Thomas and Soledad by Robert Hayden. Always eaten by morning involves materials from I live in a neighborhood of murder by Charles Bukowski. Hare Drummer involves materials from Hare Drummer by Edgar Lee Masters.
Each piece can be performed as stand-alone and  it actually happened:
And sound alone (stereo version, stereo diffusion) was premiered in Caserta on Friday December 12th 2003 during the frameworks of the 3rd International Conference Understanding and Creating Music (the concert took place in the Library of Mathematics of the Seconda Università di Napoli - Science of Sounds Department); The dying of the light (stereo version, multichannel diffusion with live sound projection performed by the composer) was premiered on Saturday June 14th 2003 in Bourges (Theatre Jacques-Coeur), during the Festival Synthése 2003; In the blinded room (8-channels version with live sound projection performed by the composer) was premiered in Florence on May 10th 2003 in the Studio C, RAI Sede Regionale per la Toscana during the XIV CIM - Colloquium on Musical Informatics "Computer music: past and future". The stereo version of In the blinded room was performed on May 17th in Belgrade (Student's Cultural Centre, Big Hall) during the XII International Review of Composers. Always eaten by morning was performed during the 4th International Conference Understanding and Creating Music in Caserta and Hare Drummer in Piacenza on July 27th 2006, at the Museo della stampa di Libertà.

The morphologic characteristics determining the structural direction of these works are:
1-
[micro-formal - gestural level] ascending negation of source bonding through non-linear
             (adirectional) processes of:
                             a. fragmentation (confraction)
                             b. stratification (diffraction)
                             c. diffusion (modulation of concentration gradient)
2-
[macro-formal - textural level] monodirectionality and non-reversibility of directional motions
3-
[perceptive - esthesic level] integration of vertical and horizontal dimensions (gesture
              framing)
In particular, two are the ideas at the basis of the formal course:
1-          defocusing: fragmentation of time axis and superimposing of more time axes;
2-          interaction between circular structure (cyclic iteration of objects exposed to micro-variations)
             and linear structure (process' mono-directionality).

Of Shape And Action was begun in the summer of 2002.
