Was it worth it???

The original purchase price seemed reasonable enough.    We figured going in, that our costs would show up later as we needed to replace missing and broken items, and in hours and hours of labor.  We have been fortunate in that there were no seriousl unexpected surprises.  We now  have an aircraft worth far more than what we invested in dollars.  However, if you take into account our time, well......  Bottom line, we did this because we enjoy this type of work.  We previously restored an Ercoupe and we'll probably restore other aircraft in the future.  I  don't think I would recommend this type of project to another person unless he had the necessary skills, resources, and enjoyed this type of work.  If you plan on paying someone else to do the work for you, forget it, just buy one already completed.
