More Than That Chapter 2: The Concert (Part 1) |

“Jesus Christ! Look at that line.” Sarah exclaimed as she drove up to the Pepsi Center in Denver. The line stretched endlessly and were filled with girls dressed up in their own Backstreet attire. “Larger Than Life” blasted from somewhere in the line. Sarah looked over at Arlet to find her looking emptily out the window. Sarah sighed as she continued to search for a parking space. “I swear those two are going to pay...” Sarah said quietly. “What?” Arlet asked. “Nothing. Just frustrated with the fact I can’t find a parking space.” Sarah replied, quickly. Arlet just shrugged and continued to look out the car window. After searching for what seemed like eternity to Sarah, she finally found a parking space. Surprisingly, it was pretty close to where the tour busses stood. The two climbed out of the car and headed towards the back of the line. “You okay?” “Sure. I’m okay.” Arlet said sighing. “If you don’t want to be here, we can just go home. I mean, these might not be great seats and you know I don’t really like the Backstreet Boys and...” “No I’m fine. I really wanted to go to this concert anyway. Trent said I couldn’t so that’s why I didn’t buy any tickets.” “Okay then. I doubt these are great seats anyway.” Sarah said taking out of the tickets. A girl from behind glanced at her tickets and shrieked. “Omigod!” She screamed. Sarah jumped and brought her hand to her chest, breathing hard. Arlet giggled a little. “What?” “Omigod!” The girl continued to scream. “Omigod! Look at where her seats are Ashley!” Another girl looked at the tickets and shrieked as well. “What are so special about this seats?” Sarah asked getting annoyed. “Those are like, the BEST seats in the house! You could actually touch them and even get the sweat from them on you! Omigod! I’ll trade you?” “No uh...that’s okay.” “You sure? These aren’t bad also! You even said so yourself, you’re not a fan.” “I might not be a fan. But my friend here is. She just found out today her fiancee was having an affair so she needs this more than most of you.” The girls eyes widened. “Omigod. I’m so sorry! I’ll leave you alone right now. I’m really, super sorry.” Arlet smiled a little. “It’s okay. Thanks anyway.” The girl smiled and turned back around, talking to her friend. “Well, that was interesting. If these are that great of seats, I wonder why my step-sister gave these up. If these are so great, nothing would of stop her on getting her.” “I have no clue.” After standing outside the venue for half an hour, the line slowly started to descend into the venue. Shrieks and squeal were heard the whole way to their seats. When Arlet and Sarah got their, their eyes widened, just like the girl outside. “I can’t believe it. She was right. This is really close. Gees, now I really want to know what was more important than this concert.” Sarah exclaimed. She turned to face Arlet and was surprised at what she saw. The mischievous face was finally back and her brown eyes were playful again. Arlet was smiling slyly at Sarah and lifted up an eyebrow. “Well, this won’t be so bad after all.” She said wickedly. Sarah smiled. She was glad to have Arlet back to the way she used to be. And she knew exactly what Arlet meant which made her even more happy. The old Arlet was back completely after she saw Sarah taking our different colored Sharpies. “Just like old times.” |
