Looking east down the Lower Fryatt valley from the rock pile immediately west of Brussels campground. |

On the third day I hike in from Brussels to the headwall and up to the Upper Valley. It is a gray day. This is part of the headwall. A shear cliff. It is steep going up the headwall. |

From the top of the headwall looking down the Lower Fryatt Valley. That is Fryatt Lake (many beautiful pictures to follow) and the sandy looking piece at the far end of the lake is the rock pile this side of Brussels campground. A gray day but a beautiful view, after a demanding hike up the headwall. |

There is an Alpine Club of Canada Hut at the top of the headwall. I am exploring the area. I walk through some bushes and am startled by the intimacy of this enclosed mountain pool. There is even a grassy area and a sandy "beach" area. I can not help but smile at the many romantic moments this pool must have seen. |
