The Laurentian mountains are pretty gentle in comparison to the Rockies.  But there is a lot of very pretty countryside to explore and I haven't even scratched the surface.  Also, I'm using this opportunity to show off my two sons....not just the Laurentians.

This was on a short afternoon hike just off the road about 75 km north west of Montreal.  Just found it by driving out and looking for hiking signs.  Stopped in a small town and asked at an information centre also.

As a westerner I've not seen a whole lot of covered bridges. And I think I'd just seen "The Bridges of Madison County".  Anyway, I was intrigued and this was a nice one.

This is a great refurbished old train station.  The rail bed has been turned into a walking, hiking and biking trail.  I put on my runners and did a few miles on it.  And a beautiful day also.
