and still more North Boundary Trail
Beautiful even in the continuing gray. This blow-down of trees reminds me of the power in natural forces.
I have only two more nights in Jasper Park.  Then I will be in Mt Robson Provincial Park for 3 nights. It's kinda amazing that I'm in the tail end of it.
It drizzles and is gray from Chown Creek for two days.  I stay at Wolverine Campground and am now enroute to the last Jasper Park night at Adolphus Campground. It is clear that without the low cloud and drizzle this would be a spectacular part of the trek.  It happens that way sometime.
I'm at Adolphus Campground, the last of Jasper Park. This is the first view of Mt Robson, highest mountain in the Canadian Rockies.  It is almost always in cloud except on clear very dry days. Not today. It's July 26. Day 15.
I arrive at Berg Lake Campground at the foot of Mt Robson.  It's very much like the city after my solitude.  A cookhouse, running water, regular outdoor toilet.  All the comforts of home.  And lots of people too. It seems strangely unsettling.
I've heard of the Coleman Glacier. It's up and over Snowbird Pass. I decide to hike it before leaving Berg Lake later in the day. It's fairly long and steep in spots.  No piece of cake. I come up over a gap in the ridge. Involuntarily I moan. I've not ever seen such a mass of ice and snow. Solid snow and ice with several blue patches.
I sit to eat lunch behind a ledge out ot the cold wind. It is so beautiful it seems surreal.
