August 25, 2003 - Monday

Today is the day of the official rotational change... I am now in Operations, and it's ok so far.  I sort of feel like a fish out of water since I have to learn everyone all over again and get used to my new place.  I'm sure I'll be fine in a few days, no worries.

I just met with one of the Chiefs in the Operations Division, and we talked about a buncha stuff.  It sounds kinda exciting because I'll have the chance to go out on a lot of site visits, perform surveys on boats, be involved in meetings, etc.  I am to go out on a boat for a week for surveying purposes - boy, that'll be fun, haha.

Today is M.'s birthday at work, but she's not in.  We'll celebrate it on Wednesday.  Bday's are a big deal at work I've realized, and I like that.

My family and I went to the
APSENA (Association of Pakistani Scientists and Engineers of North America) Conference in Albany, NY this past weekend.  I really enjoyed myself... I learned a lot, met lots of pretty cool people to network with, spent time wth family we have in Utica... One of my friends from JHU was there too, which was unexpected but a wonderful surprise!
