The Dean, you idiot! Our glorious leader, head of this faculty, the big man on campus.
Wow! Sounds impressive!
Well yeah. Actually, every time I see him wandering round St Matts I have to fight the urge to salute him.
So what’s his job then?
I told you, he’s the Dean.
No, I mean, what does he actually do?
Um... he seems to sign a lot of forms. And I think he gave me a history lecture once.
You don’t know what he does, do you?
Well, no.
All right, then, what’s his opinion on the proposed sale of St Matts and move of the humanities faculty up to Frenchay?
Er... I don’t know that either.
Do you know anything about him at all? His favourite colour? The football team he supports? Anything?
