OK, it's been a long time since I last wrote something in here. I guess the whole purpose of this website was to gain some rudimentary knowledge about webdesign and since I have accomplished that, I can consider my business here done. I'll update this site a few more times before I eventually forget about it. I have a livejournal now which has been a lot easier to update than this site, so if you're really interested in what's going on in my life, just go to www.livejournal.com/users/carpecarne/
Mot à ta mère.
PS: I finished Zelda back in December and I finished the original Metroid just the other day. Why do I remember that game being harder than it really is?
Neglect is not good for a website. Must update! Good news: I'm on Thanksgiving break...few more weeks and it's the end of the semester. I have to say that right now life is good: I'm on the second to last castle in Zelda: Oracle of Seasons, I'm almost finished shooting my film for school and I will have money to finish a film I didn't complete last year. All is well.
UPDATES: check out my first real experimentation with Photoshop in "Fun Stuff". I've also been writing this really long essay describing my experiences in Europe and how they've affected me emotionally and mentally. I didn't mean for it to be as long as it is (I believe it's about 5 pages right now, single spaced), so I may release it in parts. But that's just something for y'all to look forward to.
Something strange happened today...I restarted my computer. But the weirdest part is that I don't remember the last time I ever turned off or restarted my computer.... God I love Macs. Y'all should get one.
First of all I got rid of that boring Resumé page. In its place I put Fun Stuff which will contain various soundclips, videos and other stuff I really don't know where to put anywhere else. Right now I have a sound clip of Chris Seigel crying in pain. Definitely something not to miss.
I have also included more pictures in the Arty section as well as pictures of my car accident last weekend.
Man, this website has gone though a little neglect but it's been a good testing period. I've found that having those large pictures was killing my bandwidth so I compressed them down. Also, I've noticed that the Geocities popups are really fucked up in Netscape and I hear it's the same in Firefox (haven't seen it myself). If possible, try to use IE or Safari when coming to this page. I know pop-ups suck, but I seriously don't see the need to spend 10 bucks a month on a silly website.
And special medal goes to Sarah and Abby for writing the first "Email me" email. I will treasure it forever.
Oh and I'm sure many of you have heard about my near-death experience this past weekend. The story plus pictures will be posted by next week. Definitely something not to miss.
OK, I've added more stuff...try to find the changes!
OK, after a very elementary attempt at a website, I have added a brand new look to it. I finally figured out how to make cheesy logos on Illustrator, which is cool. I definitely feel like I have a genuine website here. Now the only thing that gets me is... what to do now? I could do a blog, but that's really not my bag baby. I guess this will just have to be my little experiment at web design until I come up with some cool web concept.
One day I was bored in front of my computer. I didn't have any homework to really do, I'm stuck in level 4 in Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and there was no one I really wanted to call. I then thought to myself, "Hey Zane, why don't you create a website!"
Hmmm...I have tried numerous times in the past to make a website with no success. This was due to the fact that I have zero web designing skills, so everytime I sat down in front of a website editing program and started to try to make it look cool, it came out looking like a 5 year old had made it. I guess now I'm determined to make this work...so wish me luck!
