Avoiding Scams

People can suck.  Don't ever forget that.  People in Diablo can be really not cool sometimes.  I can't tell you from personal experiences how many times I've had people attempt to scam me.  Since I'm a veteran player, I just laugh at these silly noobs, but for those of you without as much experience, please use these tips to avoid this.  It happens everyday in this game and it has happened to people in the clan and still does.  Trust me - it sucks.
-----------------------------------------------------------------

1.  Watch out for duped items, duped items are normally deals that either sound to good to be true or are extremly rare and perfect. The best way to tell if its legit is if its unidentified.

2 When dueling, if you die, on your way back to getting your body make sure that there are not a bunch of items laying on your body, these people are trying to pop you, if you pick up an item without your body and it equips, if they kill you your items will fall to the ground.

*We have had several members that have been popped - it is not pretty.*

3.  If you join games where people are trying to teach you how to "dupe" be aware that this is more than likely a scam. Never ever download anything these people tell you to, there are programs that make you start droping your items if you download them.

*We have also had members who had this done to them.*

4.  Another scam you must be careful of, normally used to so called "teach" you how to dupe, is another form of getting you to pop and drop all of your items.  Do not ever let someone kill you, and have them do something to you and kill you again.  They will make up some lame excuse of a duping method done this way, or some other tricky scheme.

5.  Hacking of any sort can result to your accounts demise. Blizzard can tell if you are hacking, and if they catch you doing something that they do not want you doing, something that breaks the rules of the terms of agreement, they will delete your account, or penalize you.

6.  If you are caught scaming people, any evidence or sometimes just tips, but if screen shots are taken of the action, you could lose your account or have it penalized.
