Gamera! Gamera!
You are mighty, Gamera!
You are mighty, Gamera!
You are mighty, Gamera!
Earth, Sun, Moon, stars,
Venus, Jupiter, or Mars.
All throughout the universe,
You will be our Guardian.
Monsters run because they know,
You will conquer,
They must go, go, go!
Our pro-tector you will be,
We will never be afraid.
You are mighty, Gamera!
You are mighty, Gamera!
You are mighty, Gamera!

Gamera is a species of giant turtle, believed to be a bio-engineered weapon, created by the inhabitants of Atlantis, (an ancient civilization from long before our recorded history). According to artifacts recently discovered and deciphered by investigator Naoya Kusanagi, Gamera were created with the purpose of defending the world from the Gyaos, and other ancient monsters. These monsters came into existance as a result of tecnological irresponsibility and ecological malfeasance on the part of Atlantean science.
Because of their bio-enginering, Gamera are driven to destroying these monsters and they will do that even at the cost of great collatteral damage, even human life.
Atlantis was destroyed by these monsters but the human race survived. Gamera killed many of these monsters, while others escaped into outer space. Many of the Gyaos went into hibernation. At that time, the Gamera also went into hibernation. On occasion, one or more of these monsters will return, when they do, Gamera also returns.

Gamera feed on the Earth’s life force. This life force is called “Manna”. Gamera can also absorb energy from sources of heat.

Gamera can grow to heights of from 60 to 80 meters, and weighs as much as 80 tons. Gamera are bipedal, though they occasionally walks on all fours, Gamera are capable of using their upper limbs as arms and have appendages that are handlike with human-like opposable thumbs. They have teeth, (unlike other turtles) with a pair of large tusks protruding upward from their lower jaw. Gamera have a pair of sharp spikes protruding from their elbows.

Gamera  shells are extremely resilient and strong. . They can breathe intensely hot streams of fire from their.mouths and can blast off plasma fireballs, usually very quickly, and with great accuracy; these fireballs are highly explosive. Gamera can absorb a great deal of  a life energy (manna), from the Earth, They can then release an extremely powerful stream of pure plasma, fired from an opened, organic "cannon" in their chest.

When seriously injured, a Gamera can enter a coma-like state, in order to heal. This often fools many into thinking that it is dead. When a Gamera loses a body part, such as an arm or a leg, they can grow a plasma replacement part.

Gamera are well adapted to swimming and spends a great deal of their life in the ocean. They can swim at speeds of  180 Knots. Gamera can hold their breath for an indeterminite length of time which allows their to stay underwater for long periods of time.

Gamera have the power to fly. A Gamera normally pulls it’s arms, legs, head, and tail into it’s shell, then fire flames out of their arm and leg cavities and spins around rapidly like a flying saucer. They can reach a speed of mach 3.5. This mode of flight allows them to use the sharp edges of their shell to cut enemies, similar to a circular saw.  They sometimes flys in another way, by  pulling their legs and tail in, extending and stretching their arms out like wings. They then fire flames from their leg cavities, causing them to fly like a jet. This mode of flight gives them added aerodynamics and control.

Gamera are capeable of limited space travel within the inner solar system. They must return to Earth to breath and feed on The Earth’s “manna” energy.

Little is known about the reproductive cycle of Gamera. Because of the fact that two Gamera have never been observed living at the same time, it is speculated that Gamera may reproduce asexualy. This is not a proven fact and there is still much to be learned. There are a few facts that we do know. Gamera begin their life cycle as an egg. Once the egg has been laid, it can lie dormit for an indeterminit length of time. It is unknow what triggers an egg to hatch, but when it does, it gives birth to a baby Gamera, about 2 cm long. It takes about two years for the juvenile to grow to maturity. When a Gamera nears the end of it’s life cycle, it will try to migrated to a specific location on the ocean bottom to die. This location has become a Gamera graveyard where the remains of many Gamera of the past can be found.

It is believed that Gamera have the power to become psychicly linked with humans, especially with children. Once an individual Gamera becomes physically linked to a human, that Gamara will go out of it’s way to protect that human. Sometimes the link becomes so strong that the Gamera and human will feel each others pain.

The first known case of this psychic link was a young boy named Toshio “Keny”Sakurai with a Gamera in 1965. Another one, was a teenage girl by the name of Asagi Kusanagi. She became psychicly linked with a Gamera in 1995 that was found off the eastern coast of the Philippines. This Gamera was involved in several alterations with various monsters including Irys, Legion and several Gyaos. That Gamera is believed to have died as a result of one of those altercations.

Another Gamera has been reported. It is a smaller and probably younger individual. It recently battled and defeated a a lizard-like monster named Zedus, in Tokyo.

Many movies have been made about Gamera. These movies may or may not reflect true events. Some of the movies have depicted Gamera as a benevolent “Friend of all children”. In truth Gamera is a powerful and dangerous force. Humans should make every effort to avoid Gamera at all cost.
These first four piciures were made by a person in Japan. I'd tell you more but I can't read Japanese. It is full of cool monster pictures. The link is below.
