POEMS

Cactus

Yes I hate a bouquet
Roses and tulips and cosmoses
Town girls and village girls too
For someone like me who can't but live ungracefully
These nicely dressed flowers are dying
Look Now

Yes Give me a cactus
Its fat belly is filled with
Spring of life
Light and delight and pain and even sorrow
It submits all and stands still silently

Please give a cactus to me who is not long for this world
Telling me a lie that it is everlasting
Then I lay down in the twilight of the night
And can go to my eternal sleep

Cactus II

Yes I love eternity
Under the stroking sunshine
Pour to my every single prickle
Immortal life Immortal light
Immortal tenderness Immortal stability
Murmuring never-ending eternity - give it to me

Yes Give me a lie named eternity
Cheap one is fine A fake is enough
A drainless source is conceived in the womb of the leaves
To supply it abundantly
To give it to myself dying for thirst

Please give the nourishing liquid to my mouldering body
Deceiving me that will never dry up
Then I will treasure it hiding it in a secret box
And keep saying it that I will use it one day
