This page, until I find more time to update it, will consist of me ranting on the war on drugs with some quotes. I'll get it nice and organized soon though.

"Now what I contend is that my body is my own, at least I have always so regarded it. If I do harm through my experimenting with it, it is I who suffers, not the state."
--Mark Twain

Some drugs are bad for us; some can even be lethal. So can football. Do we ban that too? There are an infinite number of dangers out in the world, and we can't be protected from all of them. And I believe that if somebody wants to kill themself, with drugs or otherwise, they have the right to do so. Let's take a moment to reflect on the absuridity of anti-suicide laws. If an individual does not have sovereignty over his own body... who the hell does? Ok moment over.

"So I asked him which part of the reality of ending drug prohibition is it that worries him - is it the end of the drive-by shootings, the end of gang warfare, or will he miss having schoolchildren terrorized out on the playground?"
--Jo Jorgensen

"The prestige of government has undoubtedly been lowered considerably by the Prohibition law. For nothing is more destructive of respect for the government and the law of the land than passing laws which cannot be enforced. It is an open secret that the dangerous increase of crime in this country is closely connected with this."
--Albert Einstein

"The question George Bush, along with Clinton, Gingrich, Gore and all the other boomer politicians who have admitted to a walk on the wild side but saw the error of their ways and support the drug laws now more than ever should be required to answer is simple. 'At what point in your drug-using career would it have been a good thing for you to get arrested and go to prison?' "
-- Alan Brock

"Penalties against possession of a drug should not be more damaging to an individual than the use of the drug itself."
-- President Jimmy Carter

(Last year when I took AP US History, I realized that Jimmy Carter was my favorite president-- once I learned about him. Now I remember why.)

more soon- you can be sure of that.
