					Melanie Joy Fontana Melanie Fontana is an award winning 18 year old singer/songwriter from Newington, CT. Melanie has been singing since she could speak and has been performing since pre-school age. :) Melanie has a 5 octave vocal range and a bold voice that has been compared to the vocal abilities of a young Mariah Carey as well as Christina Aquilera. Melanie has received awards for both her vocal abilities and her songwriting. She has performed at various locations, including the World Famous Apollo Theatre in Harlem, NY, Camden Yards in Baltimore, Maryland for the Baltimore Orioles, local coffee houses, and community affairs and at private parties. She was named the first Connecticut Idol in October of 2002. She most recently has appeared on and been a winning episode contestant/vocalist and a semi-finalist on MTV’s “Say What Karaoke”. She sings virtually all genres of music, from pop, to Broadway to R & B, from the 60’s to today! Melanie is a member of ASCAP, The Recording Academy and the Connecticut Songwriter’s Association and the Newington Chamber of Commerce. Melanie is available to sing at any venue.
