July Note

July Note: "HEY YA'LL! First and foremost, I must say that this fansite looks freakin' incredible. My webmistress, Casi, is a total genius when it comes to this Internet stuff. I, on the other hand, am playing a whole different ball game! LOL. WELL! Down to business. Again, and I can't say it enough, thank you SOOOO much (my fans and friends) for visiting this site. I have new Fans of the Month posted, and soon, new pics of me will be up as well. I've been very busy here in NYC. In fact, I recently signed a management contract with a very influential company right here in Manhattan. I'm very VERY psyched about that. MASSIVE SHOUTOUTS TO MY MANAGEMENT TEAM! I LOVE YOU GUYS!! ::BIG HUGS:: ALSO, I'm now fortunate enough to be working alongside the world-famous and extremely talented DJ Mike Rizzo, who's artist, Jennifer Green, recently went #1 on the Billboard Dance charts. YAY for my boys Mike Rizzo and acclaimed songwriter Mike G of EL Records!! I'm so happy to be surrounded by such amazing people. I've been working my butt off here in the city, trying to get my foot in the door, and by this Fall, the song "Perfectly Perfect"(Mike Rizzo & Mike G) should be hitting radio waves all over the US, and beyond!! How awesome?? I feel so blessed in so many different ways. Thanks go 2 God above me for giving me these amazing opportunities. Fo sho! Hehe. But on an earthly note, thank you to all of my fans and friends, cuz without you guys, none of this would AT ALL be possible. ::MUUUUUAH:: ~Mel~" ........................................................................................................ Marie Claire and Liz Claiborne Designate October 14, 2004 “It’s Time to Talk” Day Melanie Fontana Joins the Effort to Help End Domestic Violence October, 2004: Imagine a single day where women and men, teenage girls and boys, grandmothers and grandsons turn to each other and actually talk about a problem that is more common than breast cancer and more insidious than AIDS. A problem that by its nature, makes people uncomfortable: domestic violence. Marie Claire and Liz Claiborne Inc. have designated October 14 “It’s Time to Talk Day” in hopes of raising awareness of and getting people talking about, this pervasive social issue. Working together, communities nationwide can assure that on this day, Americans everywhere will be talking in classrooms, offices, homes, and coffeehouses, about the fact that nearly one in three women will be abused in her lifetime. We will tell our daughters that a boy should never hit them, or isolate them from others. We will open a new conversation with an acquaintance we suspect might be suffering in silence. And we will hear how to get America talking from domestic violence advocates, volunteers, and survivors. Police, women’s shelters and government officials alone cannot prevent men from abusing the women they claim to love (or, in statistically far fewer cases, women from abusing the men they claim to love). But everyone can take this initiative and make it their own – helping to reach millions of people over the course of one day. This important issue is already on the minds of American women: Marie Claire’s August 2004 Gallup poll revealed that 82 percent of women consider violence against women a top concern—above improved education, above child safety, above environmental damage. You can make a difference on October 14th. Talk to someone in your life about domestic violence. If you’re not sure how to get the conversation started please see Liz Claiborne’s educational handbooks, which are designed to give you practical and easy advice on ways to begin to talk about the issue. The handbooks are available at www.loveisnotabuse.com. Now imagine a day when we won’t need to talk about domestic violence ever again. Please join us in making this dream a reality.
============================================== April/May Notes: Hi Guys! Hope everyone is doing well. My late April and early May has been and will be very, very busy!!! I am preparing for a really big show. I am a featured vocalist and will be performing for one hour and I hope all my local, CT, MA, and NY friends, fans, and family come out to support me! This show is a huge "Kids Night" at Rock Cats Stadium at Willow Brook Park in New Britain, CT. They are expecting two to four THOUSAND people to attend. I will be on stage from 7-8pm. The band before me is called "Steppin' Out" and they are a Motown band. I am bringing along dancers and a rapper, Adam Ballard (Sunny Stash) from New York City to perform with me! :) Admission to get in is $5 for a wristband which includes other actvities as well as the band performance and MINE! As we move into May, I have many bookings for gigs across the state of CT, and then in June, I begin to prepare for singing at my homeschool/highschool graduation, which will be held on a cruise ship during a 3 day cruise to the Bahamas! This should be really exciting and fun! I've never been on a cruise before, and I have NEVER met any of my homeschool classmates, so this should be really interesting! I am looking forward to performing on this special day in early June! Keep visiting all my websites, including Soundclick to listen to my music! Well kids, thats all for now. Thanks for your continuing love and support!! ~Melanie~ ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| Jan. 27, 2004... WOW....I am so happy to say that 2004 is starting off exactly how I had planned. I have been just sooo overwhelmed with singing work and party bookings that I just have had no time at all to write in here for a bit, I'm so sorry to all of you who were waitin' around. Big hugs and kisses....In a way it is a good thing because that means NOW I have sooooo much more to tell you all! First of all I am SO proud to announce that "You'll Be Mine At Midnight" has gone #1 on the PowerPop charts @ Soundclick.com. You can check that out at www.soundclick.com/melaniefontana .....ALSO the song "Not Alone" (My collaboration with Scott Largay) has gone #2 on the AcousticVocals charts. ANOTHER announcement I must make is that I am a Top 75 artist @ www.Music75.com . There I am collaborating with an artist named Mixalot on a very cool song. You gotta check that out as well. Recently, I was in Philly for a business meeting with a music producer named Carvin who has produced tracks for the likes of Joe, Justin Timberlake and Musiq Soulchild just to name a few. I got to sing a few songs to him and he seemed genuinely impressed with my voice. Hopefully I'll be able to get something going with him too! Alright guys! I promise to keep you all updated! Love ya! ~MELANIE~ |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| November 21, 2003... Hey all! This is my very first entry in here so I'm gonna make it a good one. I've been having SUCH a busy friggin' November. I started off the month with a trip to Los Angeles that was so successful that it actually landed me an audition at a major record label back in Manhattan. I went to the meeting in NYC and was just so impressed with everything. I only hope that they were impressed with me! Haha! ANYWAYS! I'm planning a big move within these next few months. My heart just keeps calling me to NYC and I think that's where I'm gonna end up. I graduate my senior year in January, maybe even before January. So hopefully, (I'm keeping my fingers crossed) everything will go to plan and I'll have my own little crib in NY. Well, as much as I'd love to write more, I gotta jett. MUCH~LOVE!!!!
