CP's Page |
Hi! I'm CP...my mom is my third owner. I started out teaching veterinary technician students at Parkland College how to restrain me and take my temperature (I never liked that part). One of the students adopted me after the class was over, but she became allergic to me and had to give me away. I then moved to Mel's brother's house and became his. I got sick, so then I was taken to Mel's house. I've been at Mel's house since May. Her brother decided that she takes such good care of me, that she should keep me. Hopefully no more moving for me! I've been having trouble with my teeth. Click here to see some pictures. Mom built me a new cage! Click here to see the steps that went into building it. |

July 1999 - May 22, 2003 |
The purpose of this web page has changed. As you have probably already figured out, CP is no longer with us. Lymphosarcoma, a kind of cancer, took him from me on May 22, 2003. Actually, I decided on that date to take him to the clinic and euthanize him. In the 2 days after discovering that every single one of his lymph nodes were extremely large, CP went downhill very quickly. I was forcefeeding him and giving him fluids under the skin in order to try to keep his little body going. Chemotherapy was an option for him, since it didn't involve using his veins. However, CP went downhill so fast that there wasn't a chance to try it. He stopped eating completely (wouldn't swallow anything anymore), and was no longer making his little noises while being petted. At that point, I decided it was time. I was fortunate enough to have his last 2 days on this earth off from work, so I was able to spend a lot of time with him. He is now buried in our side yard in the shade, with the rock pictured above to mark his grave site. The pawprint is a part of a picture hanging in the computer room, the room that he lived in. He was well-loved, and I don't regret my decision, though I do miss him. You can read a story of his last few months here. Mel |
