![]() From Kyoto City Web: At Nishi-hongan-ji Temple, Taikoro, there was a billet for the Shinsengumi(shogunate's special police force) members, which was moved after Ikedaya Incident. At Shintoku-ji Temple is located the headquarters of those swordsmen who came to the capital. It was also known as the headquarters of Shinsengumi. Yagi residence and the former residence of the Maekawas northeast of Mibu-dera Temple were their stationing spots. There is a tombstone of Serizawa Ko, a bust and a mound dedicated to Kondo Isamu. Sumiya is a chaya (high class night club) where the members of Shinsengumi were entertained. Ikedaya-inn used to be situated around Sanjo Kiyamachi. |
