Welcome to Mama Mia's kitchen

Here you will find some of my favorite recipes and kitchen tips.  Some say, a woman's place is in the kitchen. Well, I beg to differ.  This woman has way too much on her plate to plant roots in the kitchen.  Although I DO love cooking, I am a wife and a mother, first and foremost. If I wanted my 'place' to be in the kitchen, I would have gone to the school of culinard.   Besides, If I stayed in the kitchen... How would everything else get done?  My mother taught me, the kitchen should be the cleanest room in the house, and I do believe this.  But tell me, in this day and age, who has time for that good old fashioned scrubbing? I have searched high and low to find time saving tips that work for me and I am passing them on to you.  How come a woman's place can't be, her fanny.. parked on the sofa with her family, watching TV in the evening? Reading a good book? Or, surfing the www for time-saving tips?

Aunt Gert's Peach Cobbler/Cake
Are you nuts for kitchen gadgets?  I am! So if you are, you will want to visit my friend, Steffi. Steffi is a kitchen consultant for the famous, "Pampered Chef" products. (by the way, I will soon be having a catalog show) Also, on Steffi's website, you can go to her weight watchers section where you will find yummy and family-friendly recipes that are not only low in fat, but your family won't even notice it's missing the high-fat and calories!  In fact, you might want to browse the whole website and read about their home away from home,  it is very interesting.

Vegetable casserole (a favorite)
Oct.-07-02
I hate having burt-on food in my casserole dishes! This works great:: Add hot water and dish soap to the dish, then one fabric softener sheet. Let this set for at least an hour and it wipes away easy. Use the fabric sheet to wash the dish. Used fabric sheets work well too.
