WAITING FOR ROBBIE |
THE SECOND TRIMESTER |
2/09/03 12 weeks 3days I have an appointment with the new doctor for Feb 25th. His name is Dr VanWoert. I'm very nervous about seeing a male ob/gyn but I dont have any choice at this point. Unfortunantly, our insurance only has ONE group that works with St Margaret Mercy, and there is only ONE ob/gyn in that group, and her office is in Dolton. Yeah, thats out of the question. SO that means I have to deliver at stupid Munster Community Hospital. I hope this doctor is really really good, to make up for it. Morning sickness is continuing to get better, and Im not as fatigued. Well, at least, I wasnt, untill I got sick the other day. Some kind of sorethroat/cold kind of thing. |

02/27/03 15 weeks Well, here is this weeks photo. Scary huh? I saw the new doctor, Dr VanWoert on Tuesday. I am very pleased with him. He has a very laid back, non-invasive, mom-is-in-charge kind of approach. Exactly what I look for in a doctor. Im feeling much better these days, and my apartment is "pre-pregnancy" clean again. I lost a total of 16 pounds and am holding steady at 159 pounds. I go in 2 weeks for my triple marker test. |

04/03/03 20 weeks HALFWAY THERE! I saw my doctor on Tuesday. All is well. Baby is very active and my uterine growth is right on track. I get my ultrasound on the 21st, and hopefully baby will cooperate and we'll find out for sure if its Robbie or Frankie (Frances Adelaide, for a girl) in there. I felt movement for the first time on the day I turned 16 weeks, and on the 25th, Cameron and Janie got to feel it too, Cameron first. Oh and I've finally had some weight gain, I've gained 2 pounds. I knew that tray of baked mostaccoli would do it *wink* |

04/21/03 22 weeks 3 days Worst Ultrasound Ever So today was the long anticipated ultrasound. We arrived and discovered the kids would NOT be able to come in the room at any point to see the baby. The kids were dissapointed, but hey, rules are rules. But it only got worse. *I* wasn't even able to watch; the screen was turned from me the whole time! The room was SO small they couldn't have turned the monitor to face me if they tried. It's like they found an extra closet and said "Oh! We can make this into an ultrasound room!" These 2 crappy pictures are all I got. I mean heck I can barely even tell they are of a baby and I look at u/s pics all the time. The stupid tech got ultrasound goop all over my clothes too. And to make matters worse, the baby wouldn't let us SEE what we wanted to see, so we are still genderless. I see my doctor again next Tuesday, at which point I will discuss the possibility of a 2nd ultrasound at a different location. I dont mind that I was unable to tell the sex; that kind of thing just happens sometimes. But I just wanted to SEE him and I really didn't even get to do that. *pout* |

05/06/03 24 weeks 5 days I had another doctor appointment today. Everything is well. Baby's heartbeat is in the 140's. My BP is 100/62, and I have gained a mere 3 pounds. We went over my ultrasound report and baby is doing great! I decided against asking for a 2nd ultrasound. Since the baby is healthy,I just can't justify doing another one. I discovered the "delay" option on my webcam so I now have a belly pic with my FACE! This is my last entry for the 2nd trimester! Come back in 4 weeks to a *NEW* page for the 3rd, and last, trimester! |
