Hi, I'm Mike. I'm a very lucky guy. Reasons I'm lucky:

Reason #1: I have a wonderful wife and daughter, a wonderful extended family, and great pets.  And great friends.

Reason #2: I love my home, Arlington, VA.  For that matter, I've always liked my homes.

Reason #3: I've always been in pretty good health.  Lactose intolerance and receding hairline just don't rate (please, tell me that receding hairline doesn't rate).

Reason #4: Inexpensive tastes and cheap hobbies.  I appreciate gourmet foods and expensive cars, just not enough to bother buying them.  Making home videos just got a lot more expensive with the purchase of a digital camcorder and editing software.  But libraries, mysteriously, loan out their books free of charge.  I'm a soccer fan, and half-season tickets for two cost less than a night at a pro basketball game.
