Ming Yuan is a former Executive Director of the Ottawa Oriental Dance Troupe, and the founder and first director of the Ottawa Oriental Choir. During her tenure, Ming performed as leading solo for both the "Yellow River Cantata" concert and the "Chang Hen Ge Cantata" concert. | |
After moving to Toronto, Ming Yuan continued her vocal training with the internationally renown soprano Xiao-Ping Hu. Ms Xiao-Ping Hu was a first-prize winner at the 20th Budapest International Music Competition. Ming received many compliments from Xiao-Ping Hu and gave her voice high praise. | |
After moving to Regina in the Summer of 1999, Ming Yuan had continued her vocal training with tenor Mr. Bev Tillman of the Conservatory of Music & Dances and more advanced voice training from Ms.Lynn Channing, the famous voice teacher of the Music Department in University of Regina. Ming's performances for the two Voice Recitals at the Conservatory of Music & Dance were the highlights of both concerts. | |

In 2001, Ming Yuan's family moved to Columbus, OH, USA for another project, Beside working as a database developer, Ming Yuan was actively involved in the local Chinese community. She was invited as a judge for OSU Chinese Singing Competition, and a guest vocalist for Chinese Moon Festival celebration. She was also the Artistic Director and taught couple of Chinese folk dances to a local Chinese Dance Group (now as Huaxia Arts Group). Over the past eight years, Ming Yuan has developed a good operatic repertoire that features Puccini's operas, Italian arias and Chinese lyric and folk songs. Singing is an endless joy for Ming. She likes to share her talents with her audiences and let them know that sometimes dreams do come true, and the most important thing is the true joy is in the journey...
