Physical Description

Standing at 5'11", E'ryk never quite lost the wiry, somewhat gangly look of a teenager. He is one of those people who, no matter how much they eat, never seems to put much weight on their bones. His hair is a rich shade of auburn, growing in loose curls that he keeps cut above his ears, and his emerald-green eyes light up with warmth whenever he smiles. Being of northern heritage, he has quite fair skin, and a light spray of freckles tends to appear across the bridge of his nose when he spends a lot of time in the sun.

Personality

E'ryk is one of those happy-go-lucky types who most people can't help but like. He's quite warm and friendly, and has never had much trouble making friends. E'ryk doesn't know how to be anything but open and honest, and even if he did he wouldn't want to be. This quality can, however, get him into trouble now and then. Quite the impulsive sort, he often speaks without thinking, and has been known to offend people without meaning to. Luckily his kind nature tends to smooth over most of the wrinkles his careless tongue creates.

Spontaneous and mutable to a fault, E'ryk loves to try anything once, usually without giving a great deal of thought to the consequences. He can also be a bit forgetful and unreliable when it comes to responsibilities. Commitment isn't something he does very well, whether with relationships or projects, and this aspect of his personality can be quite trying for people who crave stability. Still, he's enjoyable and exciting to be around, and his sense of adventure can be quite infectious.

Background History

Enryk was one of the first children born within the walls of Mirror Lake Weyr after its resettlement, and he has never known much else besides weyr life. The product of a mating flight, Enryk was his mother's (a greenrider) first child, and as she was rather young and much more interested in burning thread than childrearing, he was given to a pair of older male riders to foster. Enryk was raised with two other fosterlings, and he had a happy childhood, though he had a habit of getting himself into trouble. His tendency to explore old passages often meant that search parties had to be sent out to find him, and his carelessness ensured that he usually sported a couple scrapes and bruises.

When he was fifteen, Enryk stood on the sands and impressed green Pyralth, much to the delight of himself and his foster parents. He threw himself into the care of his dragon, and once Pyralth was old enough to fly, the two of them did well in weyrling practice, in spite of E'ryk's tendancy to show up late. He often amused the other weyrlings with his humorous antics, though he could try the patience of the Weyrlingmaster at times.

Having grown up in a weyr with two fathers, E'ryk found it quite easy and natural to involve himself in relationships with other boys. He seemed to enjoy the company of both males and females equally, and as a teenager he had the reputation of a flirt. Still, he did not share as many beds as he did winks, and most of his physical relationships were the result of mating flights, all of which were won by male riders. Over the years he had a few relationships that moved beyond the physical, but none that were particularly serious in nature.

Pyralth is an unusually pale shade of mint-green with a smooth, even-toned hide. Her size is about average for a green, with well proportioned limbs and an elegant build. In the air she is quick and precise, and tends to have a little more stamina than is expected for a green due to the long flights E'ryk likes taking her on.

Pyralth is extremely pretty, and she knows it. She takes pride in her unusual color and enjoys the attention it gets her. Equally as impulsive and gregarious as her rider, she is an even bigger flirt and loves to tease the male dragons. She has a quick mind for a green, and often amuses her rider with her witty sense of humor.
