Afterword
The trip to PEI was a memorable, historic experience in my life. Despite the fact that our meals were simple and we got drenched in some activities (which is all part of the real camping experience!), it was still a very positive experince. The day we spent in Cavendish was undoubtedly the best part. CJ'01 was a great chance to meet Scouts from across Canada. Only within a small radius of our campsite were troops from Calgary, Whitehorse, Halifax, New Liskeard, Ontario and Seaforth, Ontario. Through badge trading and the Friendship Game, I got good practice with my French, and got good practice in getting to know people and being friendly. And of course, the beautiful scenery and attractions of Prince Edward Island, not to mention the other provinces we visited was an awesome experience.

CJ'01 would not have been possible without the help of many, many people, whether they be in my troop, or involved in the running of the jamboree. The following people made our trip not only possible, but an awesome experience for me:

- Scouter Brian Durnin and the leadership team of the
2nd London Scouts
- The
2nd London Group Committee
- The Scouts from the
2nd London who went to CJ with me
- The leadership teams and group commitees of the former 16th and 57th London Scout troops

- Camp Chief and National Scouting Commissioner Sam Elsworth
- The fine people who ran the activities, the X-centre, the subcamp modules, and the ceremonies
- Canadian Governor-General Adrienne Clarkson
-
Environment Canada
-
The Government of Prince Edward Island
-
Great Canadian Holidays, Inc. (Kitchener)
- Sandspit Cavendish Beach
- Cow's Ice Cream (Charlottetown)
- Cranberry Village (Cavendish)
-
Burger King Canada (Fredericton, St.-Julie)
- Fergie's Lounge and Steakhouse (Sussex, NB)
-
McDonald's Canada (Trenton Service Centre, La Pocatiere)
- New Glasgow Lobster Suppers (New Glasgow, PEI)
- Subway (Borden-Carleton, Charlottetown)
- Ultramar (Charny)
- All of the fine folks in London who bought
Trail's End Popcorn from me for four years
- The fine folks who contributed to our other fundraisers, including Apple Day, Christmas trees, and Christmas gift wrapping
-
Various corporate sponsors

A final note. I did call the girl that I spoke of on Day 8 after returning from CJ, but plans fell through and nothing worked out. Turned out I didn't have a girlfriend waiting for me in Ontario after all.
