King's Highway 17 |
Hwy 17 is the Trans-Canada Highway across most of Northern and Eastern Ontario, and is the longest highway in Ontario. It runs from the Ontario-Manitoba border to the west limits of the Town of Kenora, then again from the east limits of Kenora to the start of Hwy 417 east of Arnprior. Hwy 17 is a freeway for 20 km from Lively to Whitefish, west of Sudbury. |

Highway 17/TCH Ottawa Valley Route looking westbound towards the Highway 11 junction just east of North Bay. The North Bay Bypass starts at the Highway 11 junction in the background, which was upgraded to an interchange in the 1990s from an at-grade intersection. The North Bay Bypass, which is a four-lane undivided expressway with a number of at-grade crossings, carries Highways 11 and 17 and the Trans-Canada Highway through North Bay, bypassing the downtown area.
